Lagos Portugal
One Pinterest I have been seeing a lot of absolutely stunning beaches from Lagos Portugal. So I was really excited when I got the chance to spend some time on Lagos’s beaches. It was amazing.
Preparing
If you ever go to Lagos’s beaches there are a few things you should remember. Always have your swimsuit under your clothes, you never know what beautiful beach you will find. Make sure you bring your camera and a water bottle because you will have to hike a little bit to see the amazing views. Also, be sure to check the weather before you go because if it’s not very sunny it gets cold FAST. I will warn you though, the Lagos coastline is not well marked and it can be difficult to find your way around so try using google navigation.
The Lighthouse
First it is recommended to stop at the Lagos lighthouse and take some of the hikes to the views there. I wasn’t sure about it at first but after seeing the beauty I knew why. At the bottom of one of the hikes you will find people waiting in their boats to take people on a ride through the arches.
The Beaches
My favorite part of the Lagos beaches was just wandering around seeing what beautiful place you will see next. If you are looking for certain beaches than I suggest asking the locals. If you are going to spend a day at just one beach then I always love stopping at a local store and grabbing some fresh bread, cheese, olives, and a few water bottles. I noticed a lot of people on the beaches playing paddle-ball or some other beach sport to warm up after spending some time in the chilly Atlantic ocean. And after spending a while freezing even in the warm sun I decided that they had a great idea.
I had an amazing time in Lagos the amazing natural arches and just the natural beauty of everything. Lagos is a great photo opportunity and just a really nice place to spend a sunny day relaxing on the beach. I loved Lagos and I hope you will too!
Ohhh the ocean. Love the beaches!
Hi Summer, your travel report about Lagos is very precise and accurate.
It describes exactly how it is. I have done a lot of sailing up and downn the Algarve and was always stunned by the beauty. In calm weather we used to anchor just off the small sandy beaches and share a sardine bbq with the local fishermen. As you said the weather can change quickly. Be very careful when a levante warning was issued.
Thanks again and happy travelling
Hal
