Best Travel Eye Mask
I like to consider myself a pretty chipper person, but all of that goes out the window if I am sleep-deprived. So it’s fair to say sleep is one of the most important things to me. Especially while I’m traveling, I don’t want to be yawning while I’m trying to explore a new city for the first time. Nor do I want to catch a cold from lack of sleep. I’m always trying to find new products to help make getting a good rest as easy as possible no matter where I am.
Manta SOUND Mask
We were recently recommended the Manta Sleep Mask by some fellow nomads who swear by them during their travels. So I figured I’d give it a shot. I chose the Manta Sound Mask since I’m someone who loves falling asleep to background noise. This mask has small Bluetooth earbuds on an adjustable slide, so you can position them right over your ears.
I LOVE it. I paired the mask to my phone using the center button, then set my sleep timer on my phone and adjusted the sound to the perfect level using the buttons on the mask. I slept like a baby. It also helped tune out snoring and pet noises that often disrupt my sleep.
But it’s not just the sound feature that makes the Manta Mask so great. It is 100% blackout. I’ve tried a lot of masks that claim this but don’t deliver. The Manta Mask truly blocks out all light. Not only that, but the eye cups are adjustable, allowing you to position them exactly how you feel most comfortable. I love their shape because they don’t put any pressure on my eyes and are incredibly comfortable. While the mask can feel a bit bulky when you’re standing, it’s worth trying it for a night to get the full experience.
I was curious about the battery life, as that would be the real test for travel convenience. I’ve only had to charge it twice in the two weeks I’ve had it. I set my sleep timer to about an hour, and the mask turns off shortly after my timer ends.
This mask has truly been a game changer for not only my sleep but also my husband’s. He no longer has to hear my comfort sitcoms playing when I’m trying to fall asleep. I don’t have to turn the volume down as low as possible on my nightstand. Now, I can softly listen in both ears and even roll around without interrupting the sound. It’s not loud enough for my husband to hear, yet it muffles his snoring perfectly—a true win-win.
The Manta Mask isn’t just for home use either—car trips, anyone?
I have an upcoming trip this winter that includes an 11.5-hour flight, and you can bet my Manta Mask will be carefully tucked into my carry-on.
