Make Your Own Cupcake Froster

Easy DIY Cupcake Froster

After I did the post on the mayonnaise bottle cupcake froster I started  paying more attention to potential frosters.  So, when I saw this tube of mayonnaise I knew it would be perfect!  Haha, its always something with mayonnaise!  I don’t even like mayonnaise that much! 🙂  Here’s what the tube looks like.

The top was PERFECT for frosting cupcakes!  So, I washed out the tube, cut off the bottom, and filled it with frosting for my dark chocolate orange cupcakes.  Mmmm……

Later, when I was eating one of my cupcakes I got to thinking that I love cupcakes.  But, I don’t have the slightest clue about their history! So, I did some research and here’s some of the interesting things I found out about.

The history of cupcakes:

Cupcakes are said to have been introduced to the world because it took to long to bake big cakes.  However, it’s not known for sure WHEN this happened.  Most people believe, that cupcakes were named for being baked in cups.  Apparently, in 1947 D.R “Doc” Rice redesigned the cupcake to look a lot like it does today.  🙂 Everyone knows what happened next!  Cupcakes have been getting more and more popular every year.  Which makes perfect sense.  They are cute little moist cakes with amazing frostings and beautiful decorations.  😀

Happy cupcake baking!
