Açaí bowls

These wellness bowls have been all the rage for a while now and with good reason. They boost cognitive health, lower cholesterol, customizable according to your own preferences and of course, are very pretty to look at.

I’ve always found açaí bowls perfect for a day on the beach, they are refreshing, texturally pleasing and deceivingly filling. So they are perfect for a hot day in the sun.

There are numerous açaí bowl and smoothie shacks all over Hawaii but finding one that maintains the top quality that you deserve and adding in that aloha spirit makes it a true winner. Tropical Tribe was the first store in Hawaii with The Original Brazilian Açaí Bowl with açaí berries and guarana. They harvest their berries in partnership with local communities and native tribes from the margins of the Amazon River. I believe it was their commitment to quality that separated them from the pack.

They started in 2013 as a lunch wagon and quickly rose to success, opening their first store one year later. As you can imagine, that’s quite hard to do in Hawaii, especially with competition. Which tells you just how good it is.

Not only do they excel with their products but they are environmentally friendly, offering only compostable spoons, bowls, straws, etc. This touched my heart knowing that they are doing their part to protect the world we live in.

Today they have three locations, Waikiki, Ala Moana and Haleiwa. I truly believe they deserve all the success they have achieved. I visited the Waikiki shop and brought it down to the beach to watch the surfers. We tried the Tropical Tribe Bowl with the Sunset toppings and the Hawaiian Bowl with Tropical toppings, bee pollen and almond butter. Holy cow are they delicious! The bee pollen was such a unique and tasty option that I adored. You could taste the fresh quality with every bite.
