Gruyère Double Cream

The Ultimate Treat

I was first introduced to Gruyère double cream by my cousins in France.  This cream is delicious, when they told me that it would be one of the best things I’d ever taste they were not kidding.

The cream is tricky to get outside of Switzerland but if you can get it, it’s amazing.  You can put Gruyère double cream in many things.  I’ve had it in soup, coffee, on meringues, and with berries.  The cream has no sugar so it is good with everything.

We had a meal with a family in Switzerland and they had a carton of the cream on the table and used it all the time, because it makes everything tastier.

Gruère double cream is often used as a topping for meringues and it is delicious.  The mix of the crunchy meringues with the soft cream work perfectly together.  For a recipe on how to make meringues click here.
